Japan Travel SIM - JP mobile - SIM card review

Review

If you already read other of my reviews, you shall have noticed that I always try to identify who can have interests in acquiring this SIM card or that SIM card.

The reason for this is that, depending on your Internet usage, your needs, but also your budget, it may be difficult to find THE prepaid card that suits you.

By reading these reviews, I hope you could find the one that fits your needs, like Cinderella found her shoe.

If I am talking about targeting, it is because this SIM card proposed by JP Mobile is actually kind of difficult to depict.

It is not expensive (less than ¥3,000), it longs for a month, but provides only 4GB.

Personally, I think it is more a SIM card not targeting back-packers nor long-term travelers, nor short-term tourists actually. It is more like a card for people who knows they are going to stay longer than a month with the desire to buy a prepaid card that just fill their current needs before contracting a monthly plan, that is to say having an access to their e-mails. So, yes, I would suppose this card is made for upcoming residents or exchange students. And you, who do you think this SIM card is made for ?

In conclusion

If you are coming soon to Japan for work or for a one-year exchange, this SIM card can help you to use Internet for a month before contracting a long-term plan with an Internet provider. This could be useful especially after stepping out of the plane : no need to queue for a telephone contract, no need to think something else than being used to the life here.

It is also a matter of costs. Monthly contracts, and life in general, here are expensive and this card may be a good opportunity to save some money in order to fully concentrate on moving in your new apartment or residence.

However, if you have the budget for and that you are planning to use more data, then I would definitely recommend the below prepaid SIM instead.
